Responsibilities
- Act as “our customer’s best service provider” to ensure Convergint remains the customer’s first choice for service.
- Respond to routine and non-routine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance, and emergency/after-hours service calls; diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts, and debug systems for routine problems; install projects as necessary.
- Use solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
- Analyze repair requirements, provide customers with solutions, complete repairs and replacements, and exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques.
- Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customers and Convergint to ensure proper invoicing and job cost tracking.
- Perform custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits, consultation, and/or database management and manipulation.
- Install, configure, and support a variety of network systems and equipment for assigned projects.
- Execute all service calls in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as company health and safety policies.
- Collaborate with team members to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center and the company.
- Primarily perform preventative maintenance for installed systems that are typically less complex.
- Work closely with other specialists to cross-train on servicing existing customers.
- Provide technical assistance, systems checkout for new and existing installations, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair routines for installed security systems, and install small or less complex projects.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Requirements
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; proactive in meeting customer needs.
- Solid technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems and/or electronic security systems.
- Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot and find solutions.
- Self-starter who works well with minimal direct supervision.
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., proficiency with hand and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, wire strippers, hacksaws, and crimpers).
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel locally to jobsites regularly; minimal overnight travel may be required.
Qualifications
- Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience.
- Minimum Experience: 3-5 years servicing, integrating, and programming access control systems.
- Preferred Experience (not required):
- Relevant field service.
- CCTV experience: Milestone / Genetec.
- Access Control experience: AMAG / Lenel / Genetec / Software House - CCURE / S2.
- Intrusion experience: DMP / Bosch.

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is between $30.00 - $38.00 per hour, depending on experience. Individual pay rates vary based on job, department, location, skills, experience, certifications, specific licenses, and education.
