Security Service Specialist 2

Responsibilities

• Act as “our customer’s best service provider” to ensure Convergint remains the customer’s first choice for service.
• Respond to routine and non-routine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance, and emergency/after-hours calls; diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts, and debug systems.
• Use solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
• Analyze repair requirements, provide customers with solutions, and complete necessary repairs or replacements.
• Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customers and Convergint to ensure proper invoicing and job cost tracking.
• Perform custom systems integrations, systems upgrade planning, audits, consultation, and database management.
• Install, configure, and support network systems and equipment for assigned projects.
• Execute all service calls in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as company health and safety policies.
• Collaborate with team members to improve operations and cross-train on servicing existing customers.
• Perform preventative maintenance for installed systems, primarily less complex ones.
• Provide technical assistance, systems checkout, troubleshooting, and maintenance for installed security systems.
• Install small or less complex projects.
• Participate in the Recruit Awesome People program to help grow Convergint by referring top talent.
• Perform other duties as requested or required.

Requirements

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Solid technical skills and/or experience with fire alarm systems and/or electronic security systems.
• Strong programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot and find solutions.
• Self-starter who works well with minimal supervision.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., experience with hand and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, wire strippers, hacksaws, and crimpers).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel locally to job sites regularly; minimal overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience.
• Minimum Experience: 3-5 years servicing, integrating, and programming access control systems.
• Preferred Experience (not required):
  • Relevant field service.
  • CCTV experience: Milestone / Genetec.
  • Access Control experience: AMAG / Lenel / Genetec / Software House - CCURE / S2.
  • Intrusion experience: DMP / Bosch.
