Responsibilities

  • Act as “our customer’s best service provider” to ensure Convergint remains the customer’s first choice for service.
  • Respond to routine and non-routine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance, and emergency/after-hours service calls; diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts, and debug systems.
  • Install projects as necessary and use solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
  • Analyze repair requirements, provide customers with solutions, complete repairs/replacements, and exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques.
  • Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customers and Convergint to ensure proper invoicing and job cost tracking.
  • Perform custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning, systems audits, consultation, and/or database management.
  • Install, configure, and support network systems and equipment for assigned projects.
  • Execute all service calls in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as company health and safety policies.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve operations and cross-train on servicing existing customers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance for installed systems, technical assistance, systems checkout, troubleshooting, and repair routines.
  • Handle the installation of small or less complex projects.
  • Participate in the Recruit Awesome People program to help grow Convergint by referring top talent.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Developing exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., experience with hand and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, wire strippers, hacksaws, crimpers).
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Developing technical skills and experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
  • Ability to develop basic programming skills and troubleshoot problems effectively.

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience.

Preferred (but not required): 1-3 years of relevant experience in electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation industries.
