Security Operations Center Operator

About the role

Allied Universal Services is seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator for a Commercial Building in Downtown, Manhattan. The position is full-time, flexible, and available evenings and overnight shifts. The pay rate is $30.95 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous monitoring of security, communications, and fire/life safety systems
• Proactively monitor surveillance cameras and CCTV remote viewer programs
• Respond to all security/life safety system alarms and events
• Communicate with employees and security staff during emergencies
• Document routine and unusual events accurately
• Maintain control of all equipment and keys in the Control Room
• Complete task work orders for maintenance needs
• Provide recommendations for physical security surveys and post-orders

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Licenses may be required based on state and local laws
• At least 2 years of SOC experience
• Experience in military occupational specialties related to law enforcement, security, or support roles in a Combat Zone
• Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian)
• Bachelor’s degree in protective services, business, or related field
• Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) in criminal justice with current or prior active military service
• 2 years of work experience in public sector dispatch or emergency operations center
• 3 years of verifiable private/corporate security experience

Qualifications

• Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Applications
• Ability to work in a team environment and multi-task
