Security Operations Analyst

Responsibilities

• Identify threats and vectors causing security events and follow defined procedures for mitigation.
• Respond to alerts from SIEM or security tools, monitor, analyze, and investigate security alerts.
• Escalate incidents as necessary and participate in continuous quality improvement.
• Assist with basic network troubleshooting and configuration to support secure network operations.
• Support firewall rule analysis and reviews to identify potential misconfigurations and vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and secure cloud-based network environments, ensuring compliance with security standards.
• Conduct audits of network configurations and firewall rules to identify potential vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Systems, Engineering or 2-3 years of related work experience required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an IT environment required.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, CCNA are highly desirable but not required.
• Experience investigating security events, threats, and/or vulnerabilities required.
• Ability to pass DHS background study.

Preferred

• Analyzing log output from Azure Sentinel, Cisco Meraki, and Azure AD.
• Demonstrated incident handling ability.
• Foundational knowledge of subnetting, VLANs, and network protocols.
• Hands-on experience with basic network configuration, including routers, switches, and firewall rules.
• A thorough understanding of TCP/IP.
• Understanding of IDS/IPS rules to identify and/or prevent malicious activity.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Pushing/Pulling and Lifting/Carrying up to 10 pounds. Occasionally up to 30 pounds.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $65,000-70,000/annually. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: geographic location, relevant education, applicable certifications, depth of experience, and special skillsets. The total compensation package for this position may also include the opportunity to participate in employee benefits.
