About the Role

The Security Officer has the primary responsibility to provide safety and security of all residents, employees, visitors, and property of Inglis. Security Officers carry out duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acting in the best interest of Inglis, and fully supporting its mission, vision, and values.
Responsibilities
- Patrol internal and external Inglis premises multiple times throughout each shift to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and other security risks.
- Maintain high visibility throughout the shift.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, residents, visitors, contractors, and other persons; document and report any unusual situations.
- Respond to alarms, medical emergencies, workplace violence, and investigate disturbances with a sense of urgency.
- Effectively write daily shift reports, post logs, incident investigations, equipment failures, resident concerns, and other security documentation with accuracy by the end of each shift.
- Document any safety or unsafe conditions and/or hazards that may exist; communicate with other departments to help mitigate identified risks.
- Greet employees, residents, and visitors daily with professional conduct.
- Answer telephones, manage call-outs by multiple departments, redirect calls to appropriate persons, and provide feedback.
- Operate security surveillance devices to screen residents and employees, preventing passage of any unauthorized persons.
- Thoroughly conduct incident investigations, interviews, and respond with accuracy; help identify corrective actions and close within a timely manner.
- Oversee the Residents Smoke Lounge to ensure resident safety; calmly intervene for unsafe behaviors and report to the interdisciplinary team.
- Call authorities including police or fire departments in cases of emergency such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Demonstrate working knowledge and understanding of all electronic and surveillance systems including phone system, internal paging system, key access, surveillance cameras and equipment, and ID Badge access system.
- Ensure that security systems like alarms, CCTVs, telephones, roam alert, and badges are functioning properly.
- Report all concerns and incidents that occur on shift to relief, fellow co-workers, and direct manager.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience.
- Valid Pennsylvania or New Jersey driver’s license is preferred.
- CPR Certification and First Aid Certifications preferred or able to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
- Capable of following complex instructions.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to participate in company’s screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
- Knowledge of Security Operations and Procedures.
- Basic computer skills for the use of email, electronic incident reporting, monitoring systems, and surveillance systems.
Pay
$15.22 per hour.
