About the role
As an Access Control Security Officer at a retail distribution location in Ontario, CA, you will manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor activity, and help maintain a secure environment for associates, visitors, and deliveries. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and support security-related operations with integrity and teamwork. This is a driving position requiring a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials and/or authorization for employees, contractors, vendors, and drivers, and maintain accurate visitor and vehicle entry records.
- Control entry and exit at designated gates, doors, and receiving areas; communicate access concerns or irregularities to appropriate site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and documenting relevant details.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking facilities, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
