About the role
As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and use technology to document security-related information.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, document visitor and contractor entry, and help maintain orderly movement of personnel and vehicles.
- Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the facility perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of access activity, incidents, observations, and policy violations in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Qualifications
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- X-ray screening experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
