Security Officer (Variable)

Job Summary

The Security Officer will secure the premises and personnel by patrolling and inspecting inside and outside the exhibit, enforcing company policies and procedures, and promoting good working relations.

Job Responsibilities

• Complete daily reports, incident reports, and other written documents.
• Maintain security by monitoring, enforcing, and reporting violations.
• Monitor and control guest entry and exit.
• Interact professionally with guests and employees.
• Respond to guest or employee injury or illness, providing first aid, CPR, and AED.
• Respond to emergencies, direct evacuations, and assist guests.
• Escort security vendors and employees for money pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Maintain venue cleanliness and appearance.
• Provide guest satisfaction by greeting and interacting positively with guests.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security experience.
• Proficiency in English.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
• Previous computer experience.
• Full and open availability, including weekends and holidays.
• Work experience in entertainment, hospitality, military, or law enforcement.
• High school or GED graduate.

Desired Qualifications

• Prior work experience in exhibits, attractions, theme parks, museums, recreation facilities, or similar public spaces.
• Bilingual, especially English and Spanish.
• Willingness to work outside the comfort zone.
• Ability to adapt Meow Wolf knowledge to any situation.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
• TAM/TIPS Certification.

Essential Skills & Abilities

• Situationally aware and detail-oriented.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in noisy, dimly lit, and visually stimulating environments.
• Physical ability to move objects up to 20 pounds and remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, special effects, and small enclosed spaces.
• Outdoor work often in extreme weather conditions.
• Movement in different positions, repeating motions, and positioning objects.

Work Schedule

This position requires evening, weekend, and holiday availability.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not require supervisory responsibility.

Travel

No travel is required for this position.
