Security Officer (Union/Casual)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Patrols Port Wilmington grounds to maintain traffic control, detect criminal violations, and detect safety hazards.
• Ensures the facility is provided with high-quality security services to protect people and property.
• Reports safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing.
• Makes frequent inspections of all Port facilities, including parking areas, offices, warehouses, piers, and rail areas.
• Works closely with the United States Coast Guard and Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies.
• Records details of patrol.
• Escorts visitors, oversize vehicles, and equipment from gates to the destination on the property as necessary.
• Affords assistance at Port of entry gates.
• Mandatory overtime is required as needed.
• Must participate in overtime as needed to maintain effective and efficient patrol operations.
• Required to perform shift work which will include days, but could also include evenings and nights, including weekends and holidays.
• Performs other duties as required.

• Provides strong visible commitment, leadership, and personal involvement in health, safety, security, and the environment and makes available the resources necessary to achieve our HSSE objectives.
• Ensures activities and duties are consistent with Port Wilmington policies on SQF and FSMA.
