What You'll Do
- Provide customer service to visitors, riders, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transit location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or public emergency services as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of transit platforms, stations, parking areas, buildings, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points, observe passenger and visitor activity, and document incidents, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations according to site protocols.
- Support crowd management, assist with directions and general information, and follow post orders related to public-facing transit operations and government facility requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Comfortable using a computer and/or tablet (preferred).
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Pepper spray certification is preferred.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
