Job Description

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Coordinator in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. What You'll Do

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and unusual conditions in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document security-related concerns, maintenance issues, and/or operational disruptions according to site guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify conditions that may require follow-up.
  • Monitor entry points, observe vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and assist with verifying credentials, visitor activity, and/or restricted area access based on post instructions.
  • Communicate with site contacts, supervisors, and/or first responders regarding incidents, weather-related events, equipment concerns, and other situations that could impact daily operations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
