Security Officer Unarmed Patrol

About the Role

The position is a full‑time Unarmed Patrol Officer in Buffalo, NY, serving clients in various industries, including education. The role involves monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents, and supporting a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, campus‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, residence‑related areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious conditions, maintenance concerns, and security‑related incidents to the appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain professional communication with campus stakeholders, law enforcement, and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred).
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply based on state or local regulations.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Pay

$19.00 per hour.
