As an Access Control Officer at a utilities location, you will manage access points, verify credentials, issue badges, and monitor visitor activity to help maintain a secure environment. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate professionally with employees and guests, and use computer-based systems to document activity. Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain entry logs, and direct authorized individuals to appropriate areas in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues through established communication channels as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Document incidents, observations, and access-control activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
