About the Role

As a Part‑Time Driving Patrol Security Officer in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as utilities. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security‑related incidents, and support a welcoming environment through exceptional customer service and communication. A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and problem‑solvingly, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility buildings, access points, equipment areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to assigned areas, observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds (preferred).
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful background investigation and drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment, subject to state and local regulations.

• Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Thursday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
