About the role
As an Unarmed Patrol Driver in Emporia, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom. This part-time role allows you to build a flexible schedule and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, support access control, and provide professional customer service at a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including offices, common areas, parking areas, entry points, and the perimeter, to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials in accordance with site procedures, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual conditions.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and complete required reports.
- Communicate professionally with client representatives, employees, and emergency responders while following Allied Universal and site-specific policies.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

- Tuesday: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
- Saturday: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
