About the role
As a Security Officer Unarmed - Hospital Access in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in healthcare settings. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide compassionate customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, access control, and maintaining orderly movement throughout the location.
- Document incidents, observations, and completed patrols accurately, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and site personnel.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- At least six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
- Be at least 21 years of age (18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles).
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$17.26 / hour

- Friday: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
