Security Officer Unarmed Driving Role

About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer in a driving role based in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients across industries such as healthcare. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position requires a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and faculty by carrying out site-specific procedures, healthcare location policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, critical situations, and medical facility disruptions in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, wayfinding, and compliance with facility access procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• A New York State Security Guard License is required.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

• Wednesday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Thursday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Saturday: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sunday: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
