Security Officer Unarmed College Campus Full Time

In this full‑time position in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in manufacturing and industrial settings, maintaining a visible presence to deter security‑related incidents. You will conduct routine rounds, respond to alarms and access‑control needs, support badge processes, and deliver outstanding customer service while working with a caring, agile team that values reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, students, faculty, staff, and contractors while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations, reporting unusual conditions or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, helping to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain communication with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts regarding daily activities and incidents.

Minimum Requirements

• Customer service experience (preferred).
• CPR certification (preferred).
• Alarm panel experience (preferred).
• Access control and badge experience (preferred).
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred).
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply based on state or local regulations.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Pay

$19.50 per hour.

• Tuesday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Wednesday: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Friday: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Sunday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
