Security Officer - Troy, NY

About the role

We are currently hiring a part-time Security Officer for a client site in Troy, NY. Schedule: Friday 2200-0800 (10:00 PM – 8:00 AM), Sunday and Monday 0000-0800 (12:00 AM – 8:00 AM). 26 hours per week. Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Circulate regularly throughout the facility to ensure safety and security.
• Monitor CCTV and other surveillance systems for unusual or suspicious activity.
• Complete clear, detailed, and accurate daily activity logs and incident reports.
• Remain alert and proactive in identifying and addressing potential safety concerns.
• Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and resident concerns.
• Contact law enforcement, emergency medical services, or other first responders when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with facility staff to promote a safe and respectful environment.
• Observe, document, and report policy violations or unusual activity.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
• A professional demeanor and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently.
• Comfort using basic technology, including CCTV systems and reporting tools.
• Experience with incident reporting preferred.
• Previous security, crisis response, behavioral health, or related experience strongly preferred.

Pay

$19.00 per hour.
