Security Officer - Transitional Shelter

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, monitoring entry and exit activity, and supporting access control practices at a shelter location.
• Verify identification, screen visitors, staff, and vendors as required, and document arrivals, departures, and other security-related activity in accordance with post orders.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency responders when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access, observe unusual activity, and report maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
• Support resident and guest movement by helping enforce visitor rules, monitoring common areas, and addressing policy-related issues with professionalism and respect.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licenses requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
