Security Officer - Transit Platform
About the role
Serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at public transit locations
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit stations, platforms, parking areas, facilities, and surrounding perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity
- Maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents
- Monitor for suspicious behavior, policy violations, access concerns, and transit disruptions, and document and report observations according to established procedures
- Respond to incidents, emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, contacting transit personnel and/or emergency services as appropriate
- Aid with crowd direction, restricted-area access, and incident response while maintaining a courteous and professional presence
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred
- A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred
- Customer service experience is preferred
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
