Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a shelter location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting security-related concerns and reporting them through proper channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the building, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor resident and visitor movement, help to enforce location rules, and address conflicts or policy concerns with professionalism and respect.
• Assist with security-related checks of doors, gates, lighting, and other key areas, and/or support staff during unusual events, medical calls, or evacuations as directed by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
