About the Role

You will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education and more. As a Part‑Time Unarmed Security Officer on a college campus, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security‑related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This driving position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional customer service, respond to alarms and concerns, and communicate professionally. The role is temporary and offers flexible scheduling through the “Claim a Shift” platform.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.

Qualifications

Must Have

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Licensing requirements as required by state/local laws; may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company or customer‑owned vehicle.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws; qualified applicants with criminal histories will be considered as permitted by law.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• No prior experience required.
• Be at least 18 years of age (or higher if required by the state; 21 years if armed).
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem‑solving skills.
• Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.

Preferred

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic).
• Prior security, military, or law‑enforcement experience.

Pay

$21.63 per hour.

Schedule

Daytime shifts on Saturday 9:00 PM – 9:00 AM and Sunday 9:00 PM – 9:00 AM.
