Security Officer - TEB East
About the role
Maintain the physical security including facilities, properties, employees, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a secure perimeter
- Perform inspections of the facilities and surrounding perimeter
- Check and record all vehicle and pedestrian entries to/from the facility
- Determine the authenticity and validity of all seeking facility access
- Control ramp access
- Assist with passengers and baggage
- Stay abreast of all local, national, and world security concerns which might affect airport and/or company security
- Record and notify security supervisor of any and all abnormal occurrences/suspicious activities
- Maintain a professional, pressed, and well-groomed appearance
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Monitor company video surveillance
- Provide escorts on the ramp as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Responsible for complying with and participating in OSHA training and program
- This position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- The ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations
- Flexibility to occasionally work other hours/shifts when needed
- Must be available to work holidays and overtime when needed
Qualifications
- CPR (Recommended)
- First Aid and Defibrillator Certified preferred; otherwise, S.O.R.A. Certification required
Pay
The pay range for this position is $22.00 to $25.00 per hour.
