Security Officer - Shipping Operations

About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location in Phoenix, AZ, you will monitor entry points, verify authorized access, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will support a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and reliable service while contributing to Allied Universal’s agile, caring, and innovative culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor registrations, and authorization requirements for entry to restricted areas.
• Control visitor, contractor, and vendor access by issuing credentials, maintaining access records, and communicating entry requirements.
• Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site-specific procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, lobbies, access points, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
