About the role
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of T-Mobile Center guests, employees, vendors, and assets through continuous patrol, observation, and documentation. This role serves as a primary point of contact for security-related issues and supports incident prevention, response, and de-escalation efforts throughout the venue. Security Officers also provide customer service assistance and coordinate with local public safety agencies as needed to support the safety and security objectives of T-Mobile Center.
Responsibilities
- Interact with guests, vendors, artists, and employees in a courteous and professional manner while complying with all legal, ethical, and operational instructions issued by Security Management.
- Enforce T-Mobile Center event policies and procedures and respond to all security- and safety-related calls in a timely, professional, and appropriate manner.
- Observe, monitor, and report ongoing activity, identifying and documenting unusual occurrences.
- Maintain accurate logs of incidents, movements, and related activity in accordance with department standards.
- Screens and verify employees, vendors, delivery personnel, guests, and artists entering the venue to ensure proper access authorization.
- Review credentials and documentation for validity.
- Provide customer service support before, during, and after events, including directions, information, instructions, escorts, and assistance with medical response as required.
- Responds to security and safety calls promptly.
- Stand post and conduct patrols of the facility, search guest bags, prevent prohibited items from entering the facility, investigate & compile incidents accurately, and screen guests with metal detectors, wands and pat down procedures.
Requirements
- A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of related work experience.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
- Basic understanding of laws and regulations related to public safety and security, including disorderly conduct, trespassing, and public intoxication.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a commission license.
- Ability to represent the security department and T-Mobile Center in a professional and exemplary manner.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels.
- Ability to perform effectively in crisis situations and work under pressure without loss of composure.
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills.
- Ability to memorize, recall, and quickly retrieve relevant information.
- Ability to interact calmly and professionally with angry or emotionally charged individuals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality related to guests, employees, and company information.
- Ability to remain stationary or move throughout the venue up to 90% of the time while continuously observing and communicating.
- Ability to stand/sit, walk, and navigate stairs for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials and equipment up to 45lbs.
