Security Officer 3rd Shift (Full-Time) 12:00am-08:30am

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and security services for Foundation properties, personnel, and guests.
• Conduct security patrols, monitor alarms, and respond to emergencies.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Use Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Requirements

• Proven history of dependability and punctuality.
• Valid Virginia driver's license.
• Able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds, climb stairs, bend, squat, and work in restricted/small spaces.
• Knowledge of security processes and/or law enforcement is favorable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

The Thomas Jefferson Foundation that owns and operates Monticello, a world-renowned historic attraction, seeks a Full-Time, Security Officer. This position will provide safety and security services for Foundation properties, personnel, and upwards of 300,000 guests per year. Officers provide the safety and security backbone for the historic plantation of Thomas Jefferson, third president and the primary author of the Declaration of Independence. All Monticello staff members are committed to an inclusive work culture and conveying an honest and inclusive history of Monticello. Shifts are available with an expectation of minor schedule adjustments surrounding large events, holidays, or other occurrences as authorized by department management. Full-time roles are benefit-eligible with competitive pay and opportunities to increase pay when certifications are met. This is considered an essential role and will be required to report for duty and conduct foot and vehicle patrols during emergency and inclement weather situations. Open until filled. This is an overnight (3rd Shift) with a shift differential.
