Security Officer (Security Guard)
About the role
A Security Guard contributes to AHF by being responsible for protecting the company’s assets and ensuring the safety of its staff, tenants, contractors, guests and visitors at AHF’s sites, including Healthy Housing (HHF) properties.
Responsibilities
- Leverage your training in security to implement strategies that protect our personnel and assets (including inventory of donations).
- Coordinate and oversee the in-house Security Guards Team.
- Ensure policies and procedures are implemented to achieve the mission of protecting AHF’s assets and personnel.
- Be friendly, professional, and disciplined in the performance of your duties.
- Recognize potentially dangerous situations and respond in the safest and most effective manner.
- Advocate for AHF’s top initiatives.
- Ensure the AHF Core Values and Mission are top of mind with all duties performed.
- Work as part of a close-knit team to establish and maintain working relationships with Healthy Housing operational staff.
- Utilize the existing Safety and Security Incident Reporting System to submit detailed reports regarding events and situations that occur while on duty.
- Adapt to various situations and be flexible in your approach.
Requirements
To be successful as a Security Guard, it is crucial to ensure that the AHF Core Values and Mission stay top of mind with all that you do. You will need to be adaptable and able to work in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have completed a security training program and possess a valid California Security Guard Card. Previous experience in a security-related field is preferred but not required.
