About the role
Provides security coverage ensuring that adequate protection is provided for the safety and assets of patrons, team members, and the company.
Responsibilities
- Assigned to posts in the hotel, casino, resort, and outside environments to deter and prevent illegal or terroristic activities, hazards, company and regulatory violations.
- Assists guests with illnesses, injuries, and information.
- Issues temporary access badges.
- Ensures protection and security of company assets.
- Monitors employees' activities throughout the hotel/casino complex to maintain rules and regulations, including observation from exterior locations and reporting suspicious activity via radio or telephone.
- Responds to all disturbances with the intent to defuse incidents, using verbal de-escalation and physical intervention when necessary.
- Responsible for the movement and protection of company funds, including lifting and pulling carts.
- Documents detailed reports of all incidents relating to the property, guests, and team members.
- Escorts team members to and from their vehicles when requested.
- May be assigned to patrol on a two-wheeled mountain bike or motorized vehicle in all environments and conditions.
- Complies with all New Jersey regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
- Exposure to casino-related environmental factors, including secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and high-pressure customer service.
- Ability to communicate via two-way radio and telephone.
- Visual acuity correctable to 20/20, normal color, peripheral, and night vision.
- Must be able to stand for an entire shift and move throughout the casino/hotel areas.
- Must be able to work under adverse conditions, including overtime, evenings, weekends, holidays, and testify in court on or off duty.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Physical requirements include standing, kneeling/crouching, sitting, bending, lifting, grasping/handling, and reaching.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous casino security or law enforcement experience desired.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English.
- Must be able to handle all types of guest-related situations.
- Basic arithmetic skills, including adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying.
- Must be able to investigate incidents and complete written reports as instructed.
- A valid New Jersey driver's license required.
