Security Officer (Seasonal, Part Time)

Job Summary

The Security Officer will secure the premises and personnel by patrolling and inspecting inside and outside the exhibit, promoting good working relations, responding to emergencies, and maintaining cleanliness.

Job Responsibilities

• Complete daily reports, incident reports, and other written documents.
• Maintain security by monitoring, enforcing, and reporting violations.
• Monitor and control guests entering and exiting the venue.
• Interact professionally with guests and employees.
• Respond to guest or employee injury or illness and provide first aid, CPR, and use AED.
• Respond to emergencies, direct evacuations, and assist guests.
• Escort security vendors and employees with money pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the venue.
• Provide guest satisfaction by greeting and interacting with guests in a friendly manner.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Security.
• Proficiency in English, verbal, and writing.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
• Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
• Previous computer experience and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Full and open availability and flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Work experience in an exhibit, attraction, theme park, museum, recreation facility, or other public space.
• Bilingual, especially but not limited to English and Spanish.
• Willingness to work outside the comfort zone.
• Fluid to change, adaptable.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
• TAM/TIPS Certification.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, special effects, fog machines, and small/enclosed spaces.
• Exposure to extreme weather conditions.
• Moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Work Schedule

We are looking for those who have evening, weekend, and holiday availability.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not require supervisory responsibility.
