Security Officer Screening Specialist
About the role
Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a government location, where you will help support security-related screening, access procedures, and visitor interactions with professionalism and care.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
- Screen visitors, staff, and/or personal belongings through designated entry points using approved equipment and established procedures.
- Monitor entrances, guide individuals through the screening process, and report suspicious items, prohibited property, and/or unusual activity to the appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following post orders and de-escalation practices.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around screening areas, public spaces, and perimeter access points as directed by site needs.
Requirements
- Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
