About the role
As an unarmed Security Officer (Full Time Access Management) in Jericho, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Government. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, monitor access points, and assist visitors and staff with professional customer service. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a welcoming environment while demonstrating integrity, reliability, teamwork, and a people-first approach.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at an educational campus.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, entrances, parking areas, grounds, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, provide directions and assistance, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Document patrols, incidents, observations, and other security-related activities accurately and in accordance with site requirements.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of security-related experience.
- A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
