Security Officer- Sands of Kahana Resort
About the Role
Travel + Leisure Co. is the world’s leading vacation ownership and travel membership company, with a dynamic and growing portfolio of resort, travel club, and lifestyle travel brands. The Security Officer helps create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, associates, and visitors while protecting resort assets and property. This role maintains a visible presence across the property, responds to safety and security concerns, and supports a positive resort experience.
This role recently joined the Travel + Leisure Co. family following the acquisition of Yes& Vacations and Spinnaker Resorts, adding 23 resorts in destinations like Maui, Las Vegas, and Hilton Head.
Responsibilities
- Protect guests, associates, visitors, and resort assets by following established safety and security procedures.
- Patrol resort property and adjoining public areas to maintain visibility and identify potential safety or security concerns.
- Respond promptly to requests for assistance from guests and associates and investigate incidents as appropriate.
- Document reported or observed violations, infractions, and security incidents accurately.
- Protect resort property from damage, vandalism, and theft.
- Respond to emergency situations, including CPR, first aid, other medical emergencies, and fire incidents, as needed.
- Address undesired conduct and potential violations of property policy or civil law to support the safety and security of guests, associates, and property.
- Provide instructions and guidance to guests and associates during safety or emergency situations.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
- Remain calm and alert during emergencies and periods of increased property activity.
- Perform light maintenance upon request and support additional operational needs as assigned by management.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule based on operational needs.
Requirements
- At least one year of security experience.
- Knowledge of safety and security practices and procedures.
- Active Hawaii Guard Card.
- Effective oral and written English communication skills sufficient to complete required security documentation and provide safety instructions.
- Ability to carry and move items such as luggage, boxes, rollaway beds, and cribs weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including standing, walking, driving, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, twisting, and reaching as required.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments that may include hot or cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, traffic hazards, heights, dust, close quarters, and fumes or odors.
- Unless there is a legal requirement, experience will be accepted for the education requirement.

Pay
Generally starting at $23.00 - $23.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, skills, training, and work location.
