Security Officer - Retail Property

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at the location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, surrounding grounds, loading and receiving areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and/or vendor entry as directed by site procedures, and report unusual conditions or suspicious behavior.
• Support loss prevention and operational goals by observing high-traffic and stock movement areas, reporting concerns, and following post orders for security-related incidents.

Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum age requirement for unarmed roles: 18 years old.
• Minimum age requirement for armed roles: 21 years old.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to document relevant details.
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergencies.
• Knowledge of access control systems and procedures.
