About the role
The Responder maintains the security and safety of people and property at the facility. Identifies and escalates issues in accordance with documented policies and procedures. Conducts patrols to ensure the protection of client assets and property. Provides strong customer service, access control, loss prevention, incident response, observation, and reporting for all safety and security incidents.
Responsibilities
- Respond to security incidents as dispatched within designated tier times.
- Conduct patrols of the interior and exterior of the facility.
- Prepare reports on incidents responded to during the shift using a Surface Book device.
- Serve as Incident Commander pending the arrival of a security supervisor or a member of a public service agency (police or fire).
- Serve as an escort for guests requiring individual escorts through the facility.
- Monitor cameras in the Security Operations Center (SOC).
- Identify security shortfalls and offer suggestions for improving the security program.
- Maintain logs and records in accordance with the Standard Operations Procedure (SOP).
- Evaluate and escalate potential safety issues within the facility.
- Know and follow safe work practices and be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations.
- Notify the supervisor upon becoming aware of unsafe working conditions.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a reliable means of communication, such as a cell phone.
- Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
- Must have the legal right to work in the country.
- Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.
- Must have a high school diploma, secondary education equivalent, or GED.
- Must be willing to participate in the company’s pre-employment screening process, including a drug screen and background investigation.
- Work experience in the security industry, public service (police, fire), or military is desired.
- Supervisory experience of 1+ years is desired.
- Able to work during daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday hours.
Skills
- Must be able to meet and continue to meet licensing requirements for security officers, as applicable to local, county, and state laws and regulations.
- Must be able to meet and continue to meet requirements for specific skills, certifications, and authorizations specified for the assigned accounts.
- Knowledge of security operations and procedures.
- Knowledge of fire inspection procedures.
- Capable of learning a variety of security and safety devices and controls.
- Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments.
- Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.
- Basic computer skills.

Working Conditions and Physical/Mental Demands

- May be exposed to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area.

- Keyboard usage, basic computer usage, and operating controls.
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods or up to 12 miles of distance. May involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
- Walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Ability to carry a 2.5-pound device during the entire shift.
- Depending on assignment, may be exposed to inclement weather or required to work in environments or under conditions that require the use of protective gear and devices and/or awareness of personal safety and the safety of others.
- Required ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Handling and being exposed to sensitive and confidential information.
- Regular talking and hearing.
- May be required to use a vehicle in the performance of duties.
- On occasion, may be required to perform stressful and physical activity.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
