Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and/or visitors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a residential location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, authorize visitor access, and document resident, guest, vendor, and/or delivery traffic in accordance with community rules and post orders.
- Respond to incidents, access issues, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with residents, management, and/or public responders as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the community, amenities, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and/or security-related concerns.
- Complete required reports and logs related to daily activity, incidents, maintenance observations, and/or policy violations, and relay important information to site leadership and the next shift.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licenses required may vary based on state and/or local laws and regulations.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with residents, guests, and visitors.
- Knowledge of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Basic computer skills to operate access control systems and complete reports.
