Job Description
As a Security Officer Reception Desk in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Front Desk Security Professional in an educational setting, you will welcome students, staff, and visitors while supporting access control and maintaining awareness of security-related activity. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and help create a welcoming environment.

What You'll Do
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures and responding to questions in a professional manner.
- Monitor access at the front desk, verify credentials as required, maintain visitor records, and direct guests to appropriate campus locations.
- Observe and report unusual activity, access concerns, and facility-related issues to appropriate personnel in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs, complete required reports, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
Minimum Requirements
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
