About the role
As a Dispatch Officer supporting a government transportation location, you will coordinate communications, monitor activity, document incidents, and dispatch resources to support timely responses to security-related needs. Your professionalism, customer service, and clear communication will help maintain an organized environment for passengers, employees, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to transit employees, passengers, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor dispatch communications, alarms, cameras, and other systems; receive and document calls for service; and coordinate the response of field personnel and emergency services as needed.
- Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating information to appropriate personnel according to established procedures.
- Maintain accurate dispatch logs, incident reports, and activity records, communicating relevant information to supervisors and field staff in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter locations as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
Requirements
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
