Security Officer Personnel Screening

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part‑Time Security Officer – Personnel Screening in Spokane, WA. The role supports clients in technology, media, and telecommunications industries, providing a welcoming and secure environment by screening visitors, monitoring access points, and communicating professionally with employees and guests. The position offers flexible scheduling through the Claim a Shift platform.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology‑focused location by carrying out site‑specific screening procedures and security‑related policies.
• Screen individuals and authorized items entering designated areas in accordance with established access‑control and screening protocols.
• Verify identification, visitor credentials, and entry authorization; direct guests to appropriate check‑in or escort procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, prohibited‑item concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry points, and the surrounding business perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and report unusual activity.

Minimum Requirements

• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screening required to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Pay

$21.85 per hour

Schedule

Daytime shifts: Friday 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM, Saturday 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM, Sunday 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM.
