About the role
As a Perimeter Patrol Security Officer in Lansing, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor assigned areas, support access control, and maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents. The role involves providing professional customer service, clear communication, and collaborating with site personnel.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical operations location.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas, perimeter areas, and operational zones, reporting unusual conditions and potential hazards according to site procedures.
- Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing authorized personnel in accordance with established entry requirements.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed by procedures.
- Document patrol activities, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns accurately in required reports and shift logs.
Requirements
- At least two years of security-related experience.
- At least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred).
- Access control and badge experience (preferred).
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay
$19.82 per hour.

- Night shift: 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM, Monday through Friday
