About the role
Apart from serving and safeguarding clients in logistics and distribution locations, you will also contribute to a culture that positively impacts the communities and customers we serve.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and reporting unusual activity to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, yard, trailer areas, dock spaces, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor entry and exit activity for visitors, vendors, and/or deliveries, verify credentials or access permissions as directed by site policies, and communicate clearly with personnel regarding post instructions.
- Support daily operations by observing loading and unloading areas, reporting hazards, damaged gates or fencing, lighting issues, and/or other conditions that could impact security-related operations at the location.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills.
