Overview

As a Security Officer Patrol Documentation in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a government education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will communicate professionally, respond to routine concerns, and document activities using technology.

What You'll Do

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols and reporting requirements
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, administrative areas, parking areas, walkways, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity
  • Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel
  • Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and maintain professional communication with campus representatives and Allied Universal leadership

Requirements

  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience
  • Customer service experience is preferred
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment

Pay & Schedule

  • Pay Rate: $17.55 / Hour
  • Position Type: Full Time
  • Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM
