Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Credential Desk in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Monitor entry and exit points; verify credentials, visitor authorizations, and contractor access requirements; and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned utility facilities, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unauthorized activity, unsecured areas, and unusual conditions.
• Control access to restricted areas, assist with visitor processing, and communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related concerns.

Requirements

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay

$18.93 - $19.30 / Hour

• Thursday: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Friday: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
