Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Transit Patrol

This part‑time, unarmed patrol position in San Carlos, CA, involves safeguarding clients in industries such as government, conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and supporting a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and the public. The role offers schedule flexibility through the “Claim a Shift” platform.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to transit riders, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, administrative spaces, and surrounding perimeters to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points and assist with the orderly flow of authorized personnel and visitors while helping to deter unauthorized entry and prohibited activity.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with dispatch, site representatives, and emergency responders as needed.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21 + for armed roles).
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply based on state or local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Pay

$24.90 per hour.

Schedule

• Saturday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Sunday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Part‑time, daytime shifts.
