About the role

As a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Financial Institutions, Government, and more. You will monitor and patrol financial institution and public transit locations, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents. You will support access procedures, observe and report security-related concerns, and provide welcoming customer service and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, commuters, and/or clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at financial institution and public transit locations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, offices, transit areas, parking locations, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate logs and incident reports.
• Provide visible support at assigned locations, communicate professionally with the public and site personnel, and report maintenance, access control, or security-related issues to the appropriate contacts.

Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
