About the Role

The Security Officer – Part‑Time Enhanced position provides a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands‑on experience, or work toward a full‑time career with the industry leader. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part‑Time Unarmed Patrol Response in Ashburn, VA, you will be assigned a fixed “anchor” shift at a designated site for a six‑month commitment, with the ability to pick up additional shifts through the “Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift” program. This structure allows you to work part‑time one week and full‑time the next, offering income stability and the opportunity to scale up to a 40‑hour week or scale back as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and employees at a commercial real‑estate location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, common areas, parking facilities, loading docks, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor entry requirements, and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift communications while maintaining a professional presence throughout the location.

Minimum Requirements

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
