As a Security Officer supporting an educational location, you will conduct routine unarmed patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. Schedule
- Position Type: Part Time
- Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour
- Daytime shifts: Monday 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM, Tuesday 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM, Friday 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or community members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, disruptions, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate school personnel and/or emergency responders.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with access control and reporting suspicious, unauthorized, or hazardous conditions.
- Prepare clear, timely reports of incidents, observations, and actions taken, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
Preferred qualifications
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
