Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol

About the role
As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service. You will communicate professionally with visitors and staff while supporting a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors at a retail location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout sales floors, entrances, parking areas, loading areas, and the business perimeter to help deter theft, unauthorized activity, and policy violations.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, potential hazards, and irregular conditions to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
- Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports while communicating professionally with store personnel, customers, law enforcement, and emergency responders as needed.
Requirements
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
