Security Officer Part Time Transitional Shelter

About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer at a Transitional Shelter in Bronx, NY, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support residents, visitors, and staff with exceptional customer service and communication. You will contribute to a caring, people-first environment through teamwork, integrity, and reliable service while responding to routine concerns and reporting observed issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential common areas, building entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or property concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, documenting relevant observations and notifying appropriate personnel of unauthorized access attempts or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and communicate security-related information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay

$17.70 / hour

• Monday: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sunday: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
